Connecting to the Veil and Our Work

As the sun finds rest earlier and takes longer to wake in the morning, a new depth has arrived. Autumn is here and Winter will slowly emerge. As the seasons shift, the veil or “curtain” between our world and the spirit world starts to lift, making communication and deepening our divination practices much more accessible. This time of year is ripe with possibility for ancestral connection, spiritual work, and honoring all the parts of us we hold so dear. For the rest of the year, we are being asked to dive deep - into our beliefs, practices, habits, patterns, fears, hopes and dreams. To honor where we have been, where we’re at, and where we want to go. The decent of autumn followed by the transition into winter asks us to stay curious and open to the mysteries of life.

What might you be ready to follow into fruition? Can you bury your seeds of inspiration and hope now?

To let them ruminate and hibernate, growing in the deep wisdom of the earth.

Our featured herb of the month, Cinnamon, aids us in keeping inspiration moving even in the coming “dormant” months. May we let the spice and warmth of Cinnamon keep our minds circulating and our intuitive selves warm and ready.

Cinnamon

Many people may know cinnamon as a common culinary herb used in dishes, baking, beverages, and as a little extra spice in ones edible creation. Cinnamon is our loved on herb of the month here at the shop and our October Herb of the Month Box is filled with all kinds of Apothecary Tinctura handmade cinnamon goodies!

Cinnamon strengthens and warms organs needed for digestion. It has carminative, antibacterial, astringent, and stimulating properties. It can be a helpful gastrointestinal tonic and circulatory supportive herb. Cinnamon can be useful during onset of a cold or flu, especially when sweating, chills, and body aches are present. In spell work, cinnamon is often used to speed things up, money workings, concentration, protection work, and increasing psychic ability.

Note: Contraindicated in large doses for extended periods of time. Contraindicated with some medications and in pregnancy.
