Brett Cook has been an owner, medicine maker, and handyman since Apothecary Tinctura opened in 1997. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Brett came to Colorado to attend CU Boulder (a long time ago). It is a little known fact that Brett thought he'd be brewing beer instead of tincture. He graduated from brewing school in Chicago in 1995. Not long after he found brewing herbs was just as much fun. Now Brett is excited to share his medicine-making knowledge in the classes he teaches such as Green Pharmacy or Advanced Medicine Making. But he is just as happy to be out with the plants digging, harvesting, or just quizzing you on the types of trees you can spot around Denver. He loves tress. However, his first love is his family, which includes the Apothecary crew. He feels lucky to have them and you!

Kim Thompson has been at Apothecary Tinctura for the better part of nine years! She has kept us going, inspired us, and taught us all so much. Herbal medicine is rooted in her whole existence. You hear it in her stories, taste it in her herb formulas, and feel it in her smile. Kim has a tip or trick for what ails you and isn't afraid to tell you about because she has tried it all herself. She'll often quote her mentor and teacher, Michael Moore, and will tell you plainly her goal is to be the same kind of herbalist he was: real.
In addition to being a clinical herbalist, Kim is also a Certified Massage Therapist and Mayan Abdominal Therapy Practitioner. Kim's technical knowledge of the body structure gives her the foundation to bring deep release and softness to even the toughest aches and pains. While she loves the prenatal and Mayan Abdominal work she does, it is the Ashiatsu massage she is best known for. If you haven't tried this you're missing out!
